Fertility and The Emotional Journey
I recently received a call from one of my long-term patients, who over the past 6 months wanted to focus on boosting her fertility health. She was a regular patient who lead a very healthy, green, clean lifestyle, eating all the healthy organic foods, while carefully tracking her cycle and ovulation. Everything looked great on paper.
Acupuncture for Anxiety
Anxiety is among the most prevalent mental disorders in the United States. The Anxiety and Depression Society of America reports 40 million adults, or 18.1% of the population suffers from some sort of anxiety driven disorder. While anxiety is common, only 36.9% of anxiety sufferers seek treatment for their illness.
How to Prepare for Your First Acupuncture Treatment
Not everyone is familiar with acupuncture and its process, and for many, it seems mysterious and unfamiliar, and even a bit scary or intimidating. After all, there are needles involved, but please let me assure you, that in the right practitioner’s hands, you will experience no pain or discomfort, and you’ll leave your acupuncture session feeling calm, relaxed, and recharged. This is the goal at Phoenix Rising Acupuncture: to feel better when you leave than when you walk in.
What is Reiki?
Have you ever walked into a room and felt like something was off? Maybe you have met someone and felt they had a good or bad vibe before they even spoke? A Certified Reiki practitioner is trained or attuned to recognize these feelings.
Acupuncture and Natural Remedies for PMS
Pssst….PMS is not normal, but there are natural remedies for PMS, including acupuncture.
I recently conducted an informal poll on social media, which went out to hundreds of women, asking questions about symptoms related to their cycle. What I discovered is that 100% of women experience at least one PMS symptom during the time of their cycle. Most women (about 80%) experience some cramping, whether it was mild, moderate, or severe. About one-third experience headaches, nearly half experience breast tenderness, breast swelling, bloating, and food cravings, and nearly all admitted to moodiness. The most alarming statistic was that every woman who responded who was not a Chinese Medicine practitioner believe that there was no long-term relief, and this was their fate to suffer. (Hint: there is an answer. Read on…)
Healing Beyond the Physical: Esoteric Acupuncture and Healing Emotional Trauma
In early May 2018, I was immersed in the magical forests of the Pacific Northwest, embarking upon a one-year Master Healer program that will continue into 2019. I set out with the intention to bring back an array of healing tools and therapies that I may bestow upon my clients, but little did I know that I would come back with so much more.
What is Esoteric Acupuncture?
“The power of acupuncture is to harmonize and strengthen the body systems before a disease stage, but the power of Esoteric Acupuncture is to work with expanding consciousness and strengthen the root, which is our Higher, Inner Spiritual Heart Center.” Dr. Mikio Sankey
Autumn: A Time to Release and Let Go
Autumn is upon us as we (hopefully) usher out the scorching heat and welcome the cooler temperatures. According to Five Element Theory in Chinese Medicine, Autumn is the season associated with the element of Metal. It is a dry season, which follows the humid summer. Our bodies are microcosms of the environment around us, and so, dryness can become more problematic during this time.
Phoenix Rising: Rising Out of the Depths of Depression
Many clients walk through the doors of Phoenix Rising Acupuncture with the same story to share. Stress is overwhelming their lives. The manifestations vary from anxiety to pain to physical illness to depression.
Adrenal Fatigue: The Diagnosis of a Nation
Adrenal fatigue has become a popular “buzz word” in today’s health arena. Stress is considered to be the primary culprit, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that a large portion of Americans suffer from the collection of symptoms that make up the syndrome referred to as “adrenal fatigue”.
Esoteric Acupuncture: Deeper Healing
The majority of Americans suffer from one or more chronic illnesses, including allergies, asthma, eczema, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and the list goes on. Why has it been so difficult to make positive changes for such serious chronic ailments? For many, deeper healing is called for…
Letting Go
I've never been so great at making (or keeping) New Year's Resolutions. Last year, as January 1st came and went, I didn't vow to change a thing. However, looking back over this past year, I realized I made some pretty significant changes.
